What is Eternal Life?

Eternal Life (Andrew Wommack)What is Eternal Life?John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. Our spirit man is immortal, everybody lives forever – either in Heaven or in Hell.  Eternal life is not just to live forever but it is knowing God, to have a more intimate personal relationship with God.John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Faith works by love - if you can just understand how much God loves you. Galations 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.If you got your sins forgiven so you can go to heaven when you die, you are missing the main purpose of Salvation – you have to have a close relationship with God.James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?You have to connect personally with the Lord.John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.”Not going to but have everlasting life right now!It is wonderful if you’ve cried out to God and got all your sins forgiven and your heart has been cleansed. You might be saved and headed to Heaven but true Salvation is knowing God.  But if you can’t hear His voice and do not rejoice in Him you are missing the point of Salvation. Have an intimate relationship with the Lord to where He is your best Friend, He speaks to you and you hear Him.John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in heaven.”You can have Heaven in your heart. You can know God now, you can ask Him questions and He will give you answers. The goal of Salvation is to remove your sins so you can enter into a relationship with God.Sin was a barrier between us and God but Jesus came and removed it so that we could have a relationship with God.Eternal Life is  a present tense reality now – it is about knowing God.There are a many Christians sick, poor, bitter, angry, they don’t have any power, peace or joy because they don’t have a personal relationship with God, they only know about God… You have to do more – intimacy with God.James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?1 Peter 1:8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,”1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”  It is going to be complete in Heaven but Eternal Life is now, God wants to talk to you now and to be free from condemnation.When God Almighty tells you how much He loves you all other mistakes, rejections, embarrassments in your life will be no big deal – you just go to God. He will never leave you nor forsakeJeremiah 9:23 Thus says the Lord:“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,Let not the mighty man glory in his might,Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;23 But let him who glories glory in this,That he understands and knows Me,That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth.For in these I delight,” says the Lord.” 1 Samuel 16:6 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord’s anointed is before Him!”7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say:“The Lord is my helper;I will not fear.What can man do to me?” Isaiah 49:16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
