Just because we're Christians doesn't mean that we're exempt from trouble/problems/storms/sickness. Psalm 34:19 "Many are the afflictions (problems) of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all."
There is a warfare between Heaven & hell / Good & evil and we are caught in the middle. In the midst of your affliction, Rejoice, pray & give thanks to the Lord
1 Thes 5:16-18 : 16 Rejoice always. ever more rejoice 17 Pray without ceasing . Don't give up, stand on God's Promises, fight the good fight of faith. But how long? Until you get your healing/finances/etc 18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Learn to give Him thanks, not for it but in it. In it for His Faithfulness!
Rom 10:17: "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Hang onto the Word of God
James 4:7: "Therefore submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
Submit and resist, problems do not perfect us, nor do trials, if it perfected us we all would have been perfect. It's not the problem that perfect us, it is submitting to God and resisting the devil, it's fighting the good fight of faith . Sometimes you have to fight to believe God, and it's a good fight. God is good & the devil bad. Problems hurt and life is real. But if you think your problems are sent on you by God then you're not going to resist them, you're going to submit to them because you think God is doing this to you and the devil will walk all over you! I know God is good and I know He loves me because He gave me the Holy Ghost. Many times non-Christians does'nt see Jesus in us until we are in the fire. Learn how to trust God in the pain/confusion - 'God I just know that you love me, and I love You and I know You will never leave me, nor forsake me'. Suddenly the ropes of hell that bound you for years get burnt, like Daniel's three friends in die oven, God work something beyond our understanding, within everything give thanks.
James 1:2-3 "2count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience" Why "joy"? it doesn't feel like joy/you don't understand it but "knowing" this (not feeling) that every trial is my faith being tested. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
Bad things is happening to all of us because of the world we live in. God is not doing any bad things to us. God has made a covenant with us to "never leave nor forsake" us and to work it together for our good. trust God in your problems and what's in you, Christ, begins to work it's way out. Doubt might come, just trust in God in the trail - not the trial. We serve a good God, He turn problems around for good. The Word of God is true no matter how you feel or if you dont understand. Most of us in a problem will say 'if I just have more faith!', you are not going through a trial because you don't have faith but because you do have faith and it's your faith that's being tested.
2 Cor. 4:7 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us." How do you respond to a problem/trial? We have this treasure, Jesus, in earthen vessel, so we've got Jesus in our spirit, after the outer flesh we are all weak but we are strong in the Lord, we have the life of Jesus in our spirit man and He wants to work glory out.
2 Cor 4:16 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day."
2 Cor 4:18 "while we do not look at the things which are seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." Whatever you see will not last, your body is temporal. Deal with your problem by looking to your answer, Jesus Christ crucified. You don't ignore the problem but you're not focussing on it, your focus is Jesus. Quit meditating on things that happened 20 years ago. It takes faith to see what you can't see and it takes nothing to look at your problem. It's hard to see God when you're hurting but that's what faith is all about, He did not do it to me, Jesus, we are in this together and you will never leave me so I'm not giving up. Learn to process your pain in the presence of God, pour out you pain and questions to Him then you make space for the Grace of God, His Mercy and Goodness come flooding in. Whatever you're dealing with, take it to God. Trust God to defeat the lies of the enemy, don't except lies that you're not enough, you will never get past your past, not a good mother, you will never change, you don't belong. Jesus came and He has made us enough, the enemy is a liar, the father of lies, every lie originated with him.
Never stop praying because then the devil feels he's got the victory. A simple prayer is enough, God is not looking for perfect words, He is looking for your presence. It's better to have a heart without words than a lot of words without a heart. Simply "help me" or "Jesus', there is power in the Name of the Lord. Just call on His Name if you don't have the words. Start praying by being grateful to the Lord and praise Him!
