Prayer

Prayer is simply talking to God.  He wants to hear from us.  Pray His Word.

1 John 5:14-15  "14. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

Hebr. 4:16  "Let us approach God's throne of Grace with confidence that we may obtain mercy, and find Grace to help in a time of need."

James 4:2  "you do not have because you do not ask."

We pray too small to the Most High God who is able to do the impossible/anything.  We don't really fully grasp who it is who we have access to - the Creator of heaven and earth.

When it is still possible for men it is impossible for God.  It's impossible for me Lord! God helps those who can't help themselves but God won't force Himself upon us. 

Luke 1:37  "with God nothing will be impossible."

Genenis 18:14 "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"

Bold confidence, remind God of the Promises given to us!

Not so much what is taught to children but what is caught! Children watch parents/imitate/mimic parents, is prayer the first of the last response in your home?

2 Cron. 5:15 "...the battle is the not yours, but God's."  Stand firm and see what God will do.

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.

What a priviledge to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?  Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged;  take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?   Precious Savior, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?  Take it to the Lord in prayer!

In His arms He'll take and shield thee;  thou will find a solace there.

Psalm 27:13-14  "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed. That I would see the goodness of the Lord, In the land of the living. 14. Wait of the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
